ICHR (Indian Council of Historical Research) is inviting applications for its Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) 2024-25 from the eligible candidates.
About ICHR
The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, It was established by the Ministry of Education & Social Welfare, Govt. of India (now, Ministry of Education) on 27th March 1972 on the recommendation of a Working Group set up by the Government of India in December 1971.

Duration
The ICHR Fellowships duration is maximum for a period of 2 years which can be extended to one more year without any financial commitment.
Eligibility
- Must be registered in recognized universities for Ph.D. programme in historical studies
Selection Process
The JRF’s for ICHR will be selected based on:
- Online Entrance Test (Stage-I)
- Presentation-cum-Interview (Stage-II)
Stipend
The ICHR Fellows will get a stipend of Rs. 17,600 PM and Rs. 16,500 PA as a contingency grant.

- Hard copy of the application generated after filling of online application form (with auto generated number) duly signed and along with the requisite documents should be submitted.
- Applicants are required to attach self-attested copies of the Ph.D. registration certificate, certificates of educational qualifications, experience certificate and signed copy of check list (Annexure B) etc., and send by post to the following address:
