As the acronym suggests, the Data and Automations Desk (DAD) will be responsible for overseeing an expansive family of editorial algorithms that give Reuters the competitive advantage in delivering accurate, market-moving economic data to clients on time, every time.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across shifts (Hybrid) and will have the following key responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Maintain automation schedules and update the data our automations require to run successfully
  • Manage operational tasks related to the real-time publication of all English-language economic indicators and similar automations
  • Ability to create crawlers to scrape data from all types of websites
  • Active care and maintenance of automations & Web Watchers we have running around the clock
  • Manually snapping and publishing economic data for markets, where conditions permit
  • Liaise with tech teams and various Speed Desks for preventive maintenance and the regular audit and repair of automations & Web watchers

Requirements

  • Fluent English
  • Strong news judgment
  • Good understanding of how the financial markets work
  • Good understanding of how news production tools work and interact with our client-facing products
  • Prior working experience with financial or economic data
  • Good understanding or Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REGEX or XPath
  • A good level of comfort with technology.
