Wassan India is in search of a candidate for the role of Research Associate. The selected candidate will work on the project envisioning engagement with Pastoralists in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
About the Organization
WASSAN is an organization located in Hyderabad registered since 1999 that works as a network based hub on rainfed areas to provide support services with an aim to revive agriculture and allied activities in a manner that integrate ecological needs of the landscape to the economic needs of the communities we engage with.
About the Project
As part of our initiative, “Envisioning Engagement with Pastoral Communities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” we are seeking a Research Associate to take on a pivotal role in conducting a scoping study in these two states. The primary objective is to comprehensively grasp the pastoral production systems prevalent in the region.
Expected period of Engagement
3 months
Roles and Responsibilities Include
● Maintaining a resource database for the entire study period
● Providing weekly reports/updates to the team leader/Project anchor
● Travel whenever necessary and engage with Community Resource Persons
● To work on the timeline provided.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
● A bachelors or master’s degree in law, social sciences or a similar field,
● Ability to travel across field sites and engage in advocacy
● Should be able to work efficiently in teams and individually
● Proficiency in Telugu is desirabler
● A researcher with field experience within the domain is highly preferable
● Women and individuals from marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
