Observer Research Foundation (ORF), one of India’s leading think tanks, is seeking an Economist at the level of Associate Fellow to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated research professional with the ability to lead independent research projects and collaborate effectively within a team. Position Overview
As an Economist at ORF, you will work closely with the Programme Head to support the programme team’s economic research needs. This role involves producing high-quality research, engaging in policy-oriented discussions, and contributing to ORF’s broader mission of fostering inclusive growth and economic diplomacy.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Research & Publications: Conduct in-depth research and produce peer-reviewed publications, including Occasional Papers, Monographs, and Issue Briefs.
- Data Analysis: Perform rigorous quantitative analysis to support research findings and policy recommendations.
- Writing & Communication: Regularly contribute op-eds, expert articles, and policy briefs aimed at policymakers, opinion leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design and execute high-quality research and convening activities.
- Event Design: Assist in organizing and designing conferences, seminars, and workshops that contribute to ORF’s mission.
- Additional Duties: Take on other responsibilities as assigned by the Programme Head or management.
Qualifications and Skill-sets
- Education: Postgraduate degree in Economics, with specialization in any domain of Economics.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of quantitative techniques and econometrics is essential.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and excel in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Preferred Qualification: A PhD in Economics is highly desirable and will be given preference.
