About the STEWARDS Project
WELL Labs is hiring a Research Associate for the Sustainable Transition Explorations in Water and Agriculture for Resilient Dryland Systems (STEWARDS) project. This project focuses on sustainable water management in rural and urban districts of Karnataka, aiming to create impactful solutions through community engagement and collaboration with government stakeholders. Join us to bridge the gap between science and policy, working alongside international researchers on climate change adaptation with a focus on water use.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree in social sciences such as development, economics, environmental studies, rural and urban studies, social work, or sociology.
- Proficiency in Kannada and Telugu.
- Familiarity with the study area (Chintamani town and Chikkaballapur district).
- Experience in qualitative data collection in rural areas is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of qualitative data analysis tools like NVivo and Atlas.ti is preferred.
- Candidates based in Chintamani or Chikkaballapur will be given preference.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection: Conduct interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions with local communities. Facilitate audiovisual data recording (including videos) using ethical and appropriate sampling strategies.
Data Management and Analysis: Ensure data accuracy and completeness, transcribe data across formats, and analyze it to generate actionable insights.
Report Writing: Contribute to the preparation of reports and academic publications, utilizing data-driven insights.
