Responsibilities
- Play a key role in conducting and supporting research under the guidance of experienced senior team leaders.
- Carry out economic policy research using a variety of methodologies and data sources in the assigned areas of work. Gather, compile and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations to draw logical conclusions.
- Prepare research reports, papers, presentations, summaries, and policy notes.
- Stay informed about economic developments and industry trends in the assigned areas of work.
- Work with both resident and non-resident faculty in planning and executing research studies and outreach events in the assigned areas of research.
- Provide coaching to research assistants and associates to improve the effectiveness and motivation of the team.
Qualification
- Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics from a reputed Institute or University in India or abroad.
- Candidates who have defended their dissertation are also eligible to apply.
- Desirable qualifications for specific areas:
- National Growth & Macroeconomic Centre: The candidates should have experience in applied econometrics and familiarity of economic databases and econometric software along with proficiency in Microsoft packages. We will prefer experience in applied macroeconomics.
- Trade and Trade Policy: The candidate should have experience in trade with focus in trade diagnostics; trade policy and cooperation; trade facilitation and logistics; global value chains; and familiarity of economic databases and econometric software along with proficiency in Microsoft packages.
- Employment and Labour Market Initiative: The candidate should have experience in economics, labour economics, labour policy, or related areas and familiarity of databases on employment and labour and econometric software along with proficiency in Microsoft packages.
- A quantitative aptitude, analytical mindset, and good problem-solving skills.
- Advanced soft skills to work cohesively within a team as well as lead a small project team of research associates, and to multitask as the need arises.
- Acumen to prepare clearly written academic and research publications, analytical reports, and other forms outreach products for research dissemination.
- Willingness to perform any other related assignments entrusted by the institution.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak persuasively and to present ideas clearly and concisely.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work flexibly, creatively,.
- Strong commitment to teamwork, knowledge sharing, and mentoring junior colleagues.
