Position Overview
As a Barista at AbCoffee, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers have an exceptional coffee experience. You will be responsible for crafting and serving delicious coffee beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing friendly and efficient customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and Serve Coffee: Skillfully prepare a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and drip coffee, while maintaining consistent quality and taste.
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with their orders, provide product recommendations, and create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
- Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the coffee bar and dining area clean and tidy, including regularly cleaning equipment, utensils, and countertops.
- Stocking and Inventory: Monitor and restock coffee supplies, pastries, and other items as needed. Report inventory shortages to the manager.
- Follow Health and Safety Procedures: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including food safety and sanitation practices.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all coffee and food products meet our quality standards. Report any equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Promote Specials: Inform customers about daily specials, promotions, and loyalty programs to maximize sales.
- Learn and Adapt: Stay up-to-date with coffee trends, brewing methods, and new products. Be open to learning and adapting to changes in our menu and processes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Passion for coffee and a desire to provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
