The ELY Coach position is with a nonprofit organization that is headquartered in Bangalore, India. The organization operates in 24 states of India and is a hands-on education provider for underprivileged children and their teachers.

About Job Position

The Assistant Educator is responsible for providing support and guidance to teachers in preschools and early primary classes as a Coach to the Teachers. The Assistant – Teacher Education will work with teachers to implement the Early Learning Years Coach Led Intervention (ELY CLI), a comprehensive program that aims to improve the quality of early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with young children in a classroom (Preschool and Primary School or NGO intervention in these spaces) setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early learning standards.
  • Experience providing support and guidance to teachers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of early childhood education best practices like play way method.
  • Ability to assess children’s learning and development.
  • Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide feedback to teachers in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Basic computer skills MS Office, Google Drive, and related services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to teachers in implementing the ELY CLI.
  • Observe classrooms and provide feedback on teaching practices.
  • Help teachers to develop lesson plans.
  • Provide support for children with special needs.
  • Prepare manipulatives and activities as per developmentally appropriate practices in early learning.
  • Monitor the implementation of the ELY CLI.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as parents, administrators, and other early childhood professionals.
  • Document and report the work, observations, and such requirements as and when needed.
