About Centre for Communication Governance (CCG)
The Centre for Communication Governance at National Law University Delhi was established in 2013 to ensure that Indian legal education establishments engage more meaningfully with information technology law and policy, and to contribute to improved governance and policy making. CCG is the only academic research centre dedicated to working on information technology law and policy in India, and in a short span of time has become a leading institution in the sector.

Responsibilities
- Working independently and collaboratively with other members of the team to undertake academic and policy research and writing.
- Conducting in-depth legal, regulatory, policy and legislative analysis and developing policy recommendations.
- Undertaking high impact academic and policy-centric research and write briefs, reports, responses, blogs, articles, academic papers, and other documents
- Researching and writing policy papers, op-eds, blog posts, press releases, and memoranda.
- Representing CCG in the media and at events, roundtables, and conferences and before relevant governmental, and other bodies, domestically and internationally.
- Undertaking institutional tasks such as organizing and conducting events, workshops, courses and other capacity building sessions, supporting on fundraising, supporting on communication and dissemination of research, etc.
- Applicants applying for Programme/Project Officer/Manager should also show initiative in managing both their own work, as well as the work of the team. They will play a significant leadership role which ranges from proactive agenda-setting to institutional, and team-building responsibilities.

Details of Vacant Positions
1. Analyst and Project Officer
- Design and produce publishable policy and academic research (e.g., reports, papers, essays, case analyses) under Senior Staff guidance.
- Recommend and assist in designing and executing policy positions.
- Draft analytical policy inputs on IT law and policy issues.
- Write opinion pieces, blog posts, press releases, and memoranda.
- Participate in outreach activities.
- Represent CCG in media, events, roundtables, conferences, and before government bodies.
- Provide inputs for research and grant applications.
- Build networks and engage with social media and media platforms.
- Plan and execute Centre events.
2. Programme Officers and Project/Programme/Team Lead/Manager
- Conduct and publish academic and policy research, along with organizational responsibilities.
- Manage, advise, and mentor younger team members.
- Shape CCG’s strategic direction and assist senior leadership with:
- Policy positioning and direction.
- Staff management and growth.
- Organizational capacity building and structure.
- Writing grant proposals and fundraising.
- Building collaborations and promoting diversity.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Play a constructive role by enabling connections and supporting the community’s work.
3. Part Time Consultants
- Work on research projects across CCG’s various domains.
- Advise on, develop, undertake, edit, and review research contributing to ongoing work in areas like:
- Privacy and data protection.
- Emerging technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain).
- Platform regulation.
- Cybersecurity and cyber norms.
- Explore opportunities in any of CCG’s broader areas of work.
- Conduct research and author/co-author, edit, and review publications (e.g., papers, reports, policy responses).
- Advise on research strategy and direction.
- Contract period depends on the project(s) involved.
- Applicants interested in part-time roles should not apply for full-time positions.
- Selection is based on individual profiles and at the hiring team’s discretion.
Qualifications
- The Centre welcomes applications from candidates with degrees in law, social sciences, international affairs, development studies, economics, public policy, and other relevant fields (or a combination of such fields). Outstanding candidates with B.Sc./B.Tech degree with a specialization in IT/Computer Science/Cyber Security with a demonstrated interest in or an advanced degree in public policy will also be considered.
- Preference may be given to candidates who are able to provide evidence of an interest in human rights / gender rights/ constitutional law/ technology law and / or policy / internet governance/ cyber security law.
- We are specially looking for candidates who have experience with research work around issues of gender, young people, and other marginalized communities in India.
- Must have a demonstrable capacity for high-quality, independent work.
- Successful candidates for Managerial positions should show great initiative and past experience in managing both their own and their team’s workloads. They will also be expected to lead and motivate their team through high stress periods and in responding to pressing policy questions.
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills are necessary.
Note– A Master’s degree from a highly regarded programme can count towards work experience, but we regard domain knowledge, experience, and expertise as primary.
