Centre for Environment and Energy Development (CEED), an environment and energy expert group, is involved in creating sustainable solutions to maintain a healthy, rich and diverse environment. CEED primarily works towards energy transition, ambient air quality, clean water for all and zero waste solutions by creating an enabling ecosystem to scale up investments in low carbon development pathways, climate mitigation and adaptation. CEED engages with industries, think tanks, stakeholders and the public to create environmentally responsible and socially just solutions.

Job Description

CEED is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as Associate- Climate Change. We have multiple positions for Raipur and Ranchi locations. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving forward our initiatives related to climate change mitigation and adaptation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that address the most pressing environmental issues of our time.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on climate change policies, trends, and best practices at local, national, and international levels.
  • Support the development and implementation of climate action plans, projects and initiatives, including but not limited to renewable energy deployment and carbon mitigation strategies.
  • Assess climate vulnerability, impacts and derive adaptation strategies at various levels (local, state and national).
  • Collaborate with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to advocate for effective climate policies and programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to communities, businesses, and institutions seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and enhance resilience to climate impacts and vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to the writing of research reports, policy briefs, and other communication materials to support fundraising and advocacy efforts.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in climate science, technology, and policy, and share knowledge with colleagues and partners.
  • Represent CEED in relevant forums, conferences, and meetings to promote our mission and build strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, climate studies, sustainability, public policy, or related field. A PhD degree is preferred for a senior position.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in climate change mitigation, adaptation, or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of climate science, policy frameworks, and international agreements such as the Paris Agreement.
  • Experience in conducting research, data analysis, and preparing reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and build relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of GIS, statistical analysis, or other technical tools is desirable but not required.
  • Commitment to CEED’s mission and values, including a dedication to environmental sustainability and social justice.
