About CGAP
Centre for Gender And Politics is a volunteer-led nonprofit think tank registered under the Indian Companies Act, that contributes to a high-quality scholarship on the intersection of gender, politics and South Asia. We are a platform for researchers, policymakers and the public to engage in a positive discourse on furthering gender diversity in politics with contextual nuances of South Asia as a focus.

Associate (Project Management)- Part Time
The Associate (Project Management) will oversee research and policy projects, managing both internal and external stakeholders. This role focuses on project delivery, volunteer engagement, and driving research-based policy outputs.
Our internal and external stakeholders include PhD scholars, professors, students of gender, politics, and allied courses, as well as parliamentarians and professionals in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor progress towards project deliverables
- Provide clarity and purpose for project teams
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, including collaborators, funders, and policymakers
- Drive research dissemination and engagement activities
- Oversee work across multiple complex, cross-institutional projects
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of political systems, social sciences, and South Asian culture
- Project planning and management expertise – comfortable with trackers & work plans
- People management and empathic volunteer engagement
- Creative problem-solving abilities
- Adaptability to changing circumstances while maintaining professionalism
- Experience working across time zones
- Ability to work with and influence diverse teams

Associate- Communications & Partnerships (Part Time)
The Associate (Communications & Partnerships) will focus on disseminating research, securing and managing partnerships, and building community among stakeholders. This role involves both internal and external communication strategies.
Our internal and external stakeholders include PhD scholars, professors, students of gender, politics and allied courses, parliamentarians and professionals in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage with appropriate stakeholders for research dissemination
- Secure new partnerships and nurture existing ones
- Develop and implement communication strategies (internal & external), including but not limited to social media, website and newsletters
- Oversee community building among associated stakeholders
- Coordinate and present at board meetings
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of political systems, social sciences, and South Asian culture
- Strong social media and strategic nonprofit communications skills
- Proficiency in Canva, email management, and website management
- Experience in identifying potential partnerships and building collaborations
- Proactive communication and project documentation abilities
- Adaptability to changing circumstances while maintaining professionalism
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Experience working across time zones
- Ability to work with policymakers and academicians

Hours & Compensation
10 hrs a week
Salary of Rs. 15,000 PM
Note: We also welcome candidates who are full-time students or employed full-time at another organization, as long as you can dedicate the required 10 hours per week.
