Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) is inviting applications from the interested candidates to apply for its internship opportunity.

About DCPCR

The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has been constituted under the Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005. It is the statutory body of the Government of Delhi that works on monitoring the rights of the children.

    About the Project

    Delhi has more than 100 Child Care Institutions (CCIs), both government run, and NGOs run. There are nearly 5000-6000 children in these institutions. Most of these children are rescued from difficult circumstances such as abandonment, orphanism, child labour, early marriage, tracking, sexual violence, parental incarceration, disability, severe bullying, amongst other reasons.

    Internship Timeline– May- June- July 2021

    What will you do?

    As intern, you may be doing any one or more of the following:

    1. Assist the Commission in designing and anchoring the baseline, and endline assessments along with periodic assessments in between.
    2. Conduct data analytics and assist the Commission in taking day to day as well as important decisions in an informed manner.
    3. Assist the teachers to implement the foundational skills program in the Children Homes assigned.
    4. Conduct field visits, and prepare observations, and document the project’s progress, challenges and success.
    5. Assist the Commission in organizing regular training and instituting monitoring mechanisms.
    6. Any other task as may be assigned by the Commission.

    Working Hours

    At least 5 days a week for 6 to 7 hours every day.

    Requirements

    Essential Requirements

    1. Commitment to public service, strong work ethics and integrity;
    2. Basic levels of proficiency in English (writing, reading);
    3. Microsoft office (Excel, Powerpoint and Word);
    4. Computer/laptops;
    5. Minimum 5 weeks commitment
    6. Undertaking that the applicant has never been charge sheeted or
      acquitted in cases of gender, sexual, children’s rights, and human rights
      violation by their respective organisation and/or investigation agencies
      and/or Court of law.

    Preferred Requirements

    1. Background (either academic or work experience) in education/teaching/counseling;
    2. Prior experience of working for public cause as part of volunteering or employment.

    Stipend

    The intern will get a stipend of Rs. 3000 per month as a DCPCR Intern.
