FAST (Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology) India is seeking individuals for its FAST India internship program. FAST India is hiring for various positions for its India Science Festival 2024. The deadline for this task is 20th October 2023.
Festival Planning and Coordination Intern
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; good email writing skills and proficiency in English is a must.
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude and openness to learning.
- Open to Indian nationals only

Social Media and Content Creator (Remote Internship)
- A background in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) subjects, communication/marketing-related and design-related subjects are desirable, but not necessary
- An interest in social media marketing and a zeal for content creation, familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are desirable (For social media and design roles).
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in social media marketing, video editing, designing social media posts and handling WordPress
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude and openness to learning

Design and Website Updation (Remote Internship)
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator
- Familiarity with using WordPress

Roles & Responsibilities
The responsibilities are mentioned as below:
- Festival Planning & coordination intern
- a) Liaise with the festival organizing team and speakers/guests visiting the festival
- b) Ensure smooth and timely communication with the guests/speakers
- c) Assistance with travel management
- d) Identify relevant outreach audiences – college, universities, research institutions,
- student groups, researchers in STEM and develop databases
- e) Any other help with the logistics
- Social Media and content creator (Remote work)
- a) Assist in creating social media content for ISF2024
- b) Increase engagement with followers
- c) Use existing content to develop posts/short videos
- d) Write a variety of blogs/articles on ISF’s events for website
- Design and Website updation (Remote work)
- a) Work closely with the social media intern to develop creatives for ISF 2024
- b) Develop banners, posters etc. to be used in the festival
- c) Manage and update content and media on ISF website
Duration
Internship will start on 1st November 2023 till 15th February 2024 (3.5 months). Position may be extended based on performance.
Money
The salary in FAST India Internship will be:
- INR 15K per month (full-time), INR 8K per month (part-time)
- Any costs incurred for inter-city travel/stay for ISF or any other pre-fest event will be covered by FAST India.
Important Details
- As this is a paid internship, candidates must be eligible for receiving payments and, therefore, should not be bound under contracts with other organizations.
- Interns require a work station including a functioning laptop, internet connection (if working from home) and a mobile phone to attend calls.
- Adequate support and guidance will be provided to the intern by the ISF organizing team for the duration of the internship.
- The intern is expected to keep the SciComm team updated on progress and development; challenges and successes.
- While the working hours would be flexible, the intern is expected to attend online team meetings and complete the assigned work as per the schedule.
- Any delays in deliverables should be promptly conveyed to the team. The discussions that take place with the ISF team and/or any official documents/assets shared during the period of the internship should be kept confidential, except advised or permitted by the SciComm team.
