IHCRF (India Health and Climate Resilience Fellowship) is seeking candidate for the role of Social Design Innovator. This job is for the location Dhubri, Assam.

About the Role- Social Design Innovator

The Social Design Innovator will work within the IHCR fellowship program focused on designing and implementing solutions for public health issues at the community level in India, using human-centred design principles. The fellow will apply their expertise in social work to develop innovative approaches to address public health challenges and ensure that the needs and perspectives of the community are central to the design process.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct research: The fellow will conduct research on public health issues in India, focusing on community-level interventions and human-centred design principles, with a particular emphasis on the role of social work in addressing these challenges.

2. Develop solutions: The fellow will work with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement innovative solutions for public health challenges, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of the community are central to the design process.

3. Engage with stakeholders: The fellow will engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, to identify and address public health issues and support implement sustainable solutions.

4. Monitor and evaluate: The fellow will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented solutions, using quantitative and qualitative methods (as appropriate) to assess the impact of interventions on public health outcomes.

5. Effectively communicate findings: The fellow will communicate research findings, program outcomes, and public health recommendations through clear, concise, and precise reports, summaries, and technical documents.

6. Synthesize evidence: The fellow will contribute to synthesizing scientific evidence for the development of guidelines, policies, and best practices in public health, with a focus on the role of social work in addressing these challenges.

7. Foster innovation: The fellow will encourage and support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the fellowship program, exploring new ideas and approaches to address public health challenges and enhance the role of social work in addressing these issues.

Qualifications

  • Should have a strong background in social work, public health, or a related field
  • Experience in or exposure to research, program implementation or evaluation
  • Should be slightly motivated, adaptable, and committed to improving public health in India through a human-centred design approach

Work Areas and Opportunities for Fellow

The social-work focused research fellow will focus on specific research areas related to public health and human-centered design, with the goal of designing and implementing solutions for public health issues at the community level in India. In addition the fellowship program will provide opportunities for professional development, networking, and hands-on experience in public health research and intervention design.

Selection Procedure

Practical assignment or test (demonstrating their critical thinking, research skills, and ability to design public health interventions)

Salary

The Social Design Innovator at IHCRF will get a salary between Rs. 70K to 80K per month.
