The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme is inviting applications for its pilot project for financial year 2024-25.
About the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme
The aim of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme is to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth in top 500 companies in five years. Through this scheme, the youth will gain exposure for 12 months to real-life business environment, across varied professionals and employment opportunities.
Internship Duration– 12 Months
Eligibility Criteria
Age- 21 and 24
Educational Qualification
- Candidates should have passed High School, Higher Secondary School, possess a certificate from an ITI, hold a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute,
- Or are graduates with degrees such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, B.Pharma, etc. are eligible.
Other Requirements
- Should be an Indian National
- Not Employed full-time and not engaged in full-time education
- Candidates enrolled in online/distance learning programmes are eligible to apply
Stipend
Selected Interns will get a Stipend of Rs. 5,000 PM
- Company will pay Rs. 500 (or more for good conduct and attendance)
- Government will pay Rs. 4500 PM
- One time assistant of Rs. 6000 to be provided
Application Process for Candidates
Candidates will get a chance to apply for up to 5 internship opportunities based on their preferences including location (state district), sector, functional role, and qualifications.
Candidates Selection
- Candidates would be selected based on their respective companies selection criteria and processes.
- Internship offers to the candidates to be sent by the company through the Portal
- Once an offer is sent by the company to the candidate, the candidate would be able to convey acceptance through the Portal.
- A candidate may receive up to 2 internship offers in one cycle.
Internship Completion & Certification
- A certificate of completion by the company
- A certificate model will be available on the portal
