Public Policy in Action Fellowship (PPIA) is an intensive change leadership programme that builds young India’s perspective, competence and inspiration to solve the
toughest development challenges in the country.

Primary Role

The key role of the fellow is to provide support to the District in administration in better planning, implementation and monitoring of the outcomes with regard to the focused initiatives adapted to district’s context for the pre-identified key result areas.

key Accountabilities

System Augmentation:
a. Support in Programme Management including planning, coordinating, monitoring, documenting and reporting, ensuring data flow, MIS for key schemes of MHA i.e. SCA, RRP-LWE, RCP-LWE, Mobile tower Project, etc.
b. Support the District Administration in strategizing as per the state & district priorities and other schemes especially the Aspirational Districts Program, DAY-NRLM, MGNREGS, etc.

Focused implementation around core result areas:
a. Coordination with line departments for convergence to increase outreach and delivery efficiency of Govt Schemes
aimed at Public Infrastructure and Services (Mobile Tower, Road Network, Education and Health Infrastructure & VHSND, Common Service Centre, Post Office, Banking Coverage etc.), saturation of Individual benefit schemes, thematic interventions such as Education, Health, Livelihoods, Financial Inclusion etc.

b. Specific focus on Mission 25 Million Mahila Kisan Initiative for livelihood augmentation of SHG member households, youth and other vulnerable. communities promoted under DAY-NRLM in convergence with MGNREGS and other livelihood programmes for economic prosperity of households of the districts.
c. Strategy for mobilizing rural communities and capacity building for enabling them to placing demand on the system, thereby unlocking resources from public systems and also promoting investments by the community.


Resource Mobilisation:
a. Support in identifying and mobilizing economic growth opportunities with investments, revenue window from existing
schemes, CSR, Industry, DMFT etc. and help the administration in mobilising it.

Documentation
a. Documentation and reporting of relevant schemes’ progress, on-going innovative projects, Best Practices, etc.


Use of Technology
a. Support for technological interventions especially to streamline data flow, facilitate real-time monitoring, MIS development, reporting, compliance, etc.
b. Leverage use of techno-managerial tools already developed by support agencies, as per project requirements in these districts.

Qualification/ Work Experience

  • At most 30 years of age at the time of application
  • At least a graduate with four years degree or a post graduate from a recognized university in any discipline
  • At least 3 years of work experience for graduates and 2 years of work experience for post graduates
  • Excellent reading and writing skills in Hindi and English
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
