As a Research Analyst, you will be an integral part of our Research and Intelligence team, responsible for showcasing the value of Spotify as a media partner to advertisers and media agencies across India. You will have the opportunity to combine media efficiency and audience insights research, creating a dynamic and rewarding position.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive campaign measurement studies for key clients and industries, including brand lift, podcasts, viewability, and audience verification solutions.
  • Collaborate with strategic advertisers and agency partners to develop research and advertising efficiency strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of survey research, from design to data analysis and presentation.
  • Provide expert knowledge of the media industry, keeping up with trends, research methodologies, and partnerships to shape Spotify’s measurement strategy.
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on media performance trends and processes to inform business decisions.
  • Contribute to Spotify’s perspective on measurement solutions and provide guidance to the Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Maintain global advertising efficiency databases and establish benchmarks for key metrics.
  • Identify successful campaigns to publish as case studies, working closely with the Strategic Marketing team.
  • Support training and research consultation for internal team members and clients.
  • Collaborate with Advertising Business Marketing to create compelling advertising research stories.
  • Lead multiple research engagements with clients and agencies.
  • Develop research roadmaps aligned with vertical, agency, and market objectives.
  • Extract insights from diverse data sources, formulate hypotheses, and provide valuable insights for sales, marketing, and business development.
  • Utilize 1st party data and custom research to deepen understanding of Spotify listeners.
  • Collaborate with leadership on sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Present thought leadership research and insights at client, agency, and industry events.
  • Ensure the validity and consistency of data sources and methodological soundness.
  • Embrace a dynamic work environment, responsibilities may shift over time, and proactively drive impact within Spotify.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in digital advertising research at a research vendor, media owner, advertiser, or agency partner.
  • Proven track record of partnering with the top 100 global advertisers and driving measurement strategies in a specific expertise area.
  • Strong background in quantitative advertising research, including crafting and analyzing sophisticated studies.
  • Extensive expertise in reach, resonance, and reaction measurement areas.
  • Solid understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem and measurement capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and storytelling, uncovering the “why” behind research results.
  • Hands-on and inquisitive nature, willing to explore data beyond surface-level analysis.
  • Familiarity with SQL and other big data tools (R, Python, SPSS) is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of the digital and radio media and advertising landscapes.
  • Experience with third-party research tools such as comScore, Nielsen, Kantar, GWI, BARC, eMarketer, MRI, and Social Analytics tools.
  • Desired experience with custom survey programming and data analysis software.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
  • Positive and collaborative team player who builds strong relationships with colleagues and partners, capable of managing demanding stakeholder requests and adapting to changing priorities.
