The Energy and Resources Institute is a research institute in New Delhi that specializes in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. Established in 1974, it was formerly known as the Tata Energy Research Institute.

Job Duties and Accountabilities
Research & Implementation
- Conduct technical assessments, including rigorous qualitative and
quantitative data analysis on energy consumption patterns. - Undertake projects related to energy efficiency, industrial process
optimization, and sustainability. - Assess policy, regulatory, and economic aspects related to energy efficiency
and industrial sustainability.

- Formulate strategies for energy conservation and efficiency interventions
across various industrial sectors. - Conduct energy audits and efficiency assessments to identify and implement
optimization opportunities. - Undertake visits to industrial facilities for field studies, data collection, and
stakeholder interactions. - Prepare high-quality reports, case studies, and research publications on
industrial energy efficiency best practices.
General Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting project meetings, stakeholder
consultations, and workshops. - Engage with government agencies, industries, and research institutions to
strengthen collaborative initiatives. - Provide technical advisory and capacity-building support for industrial
energy management programs.
Qualifications
Education
- The preferred candidate should possess a Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or related fields) from a recognized institute.
- Candidates from other disciplines with relevant experience in industrial energy efficiency may also be considered, provided they meet the requirements of the Industrial Energy Efficiency division.

- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Proficiency in energy auditing, energy modelling tools, and industrial process analysis.
- Strong oral communication skills for stakeholder engagement and presentations.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft technical reports, policy briefs, and project proposals.
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
- High level of initiative, self-motivation, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Professional Experience
- Knowledge of industrial energy management, process optimization, and energy efficiency frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in implementing energy conservation measures in industrial settings is a plus.
