Transition Research is seeking students and freshers for its remote Public Policy internship program. This internship will be in the domain Public Policy. The intern will get the chance to work in Low Carbon Society Programme. It is an exceptional opportunity tailored to students who are passionate about climate policy, environmental justice, and sustainable development. The chosen candidate will engage in research, policy analysis, and the formulation of legal frameworks.
About Transitions Research
Transitions Research conducts multidisciplinary research to generate anticipatory knowledge on the complex interplay between technology, society and sustainability in transition processes. They bridge the gap between new knowledge, public policy and societal action.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed research and participate in developing policy briefs about climate change law on issues including Loss and Damage mechanisms, climate change litigation in India, the interplay between scientific evidence and judicial systems, and exploring constitutional avenues for enforcing climate justice in India.
- Work collaboratively with team members on various projects and contribute to meetings and workshops, providing informed opinions and keeping abreast of recent climate law and policy developments.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in the final year of an undergraduate or master’s programme specializing in Law, Environmental Policy, Sustainable Development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated research, analytical, and writing prowess and proficiency in virtual collaboration tools.
- Capability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a remote work setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- A candidate enrolled in a Master’s programme with previous exposure or academic coursework related to climate change, environmental law, or public policy.
Duration & Compensation
- This is a minimum 2-month, full-time, paid internship. Compensation details will be provided upon selection for the internship position.
