YLAC hiring Associate| Officer, Programs| New Delhi

YLAC is seeking candidate for the post of Associate| Officer, programs. Its programs are currently running in multiple cities of India, in addition to undertaking projects in civic engagement and public policy.

About YLAC

The team at YLAC works on a diverse range of projects. Our key focus areas include civic education, public policy, empathy building and youth leadership. Our interventions are designed as experiential learning programs for young people of different age groups (primarily 13-30) to build their skills and knowledge of policy making, research and advocacy.

Role Description- Associate| Officer. Programs

This role is an opportunity to increase citizen engagement in governance and change the way civic education is imparted by developing experiential learning programs that leave a deep impact on people. The role involves interacting with young people – from high school students to professionals – and jet-setting across cities to spread our message of civic action far and wide.

The role will entail a mix of different workstreams and responsibilities may vary depending on previous work experience:

  • Managing civic education partnerships and interfacing with educators to redefine civic education in our schools and colleges
  • Handling YLAC’s flagship initiatives such as The Artivist Fellowship, the Young Researchers for Social Impact Program, the Digital Champions Program, the Equality Clubs, Social Action Incubator etc., including supervision and performance management of fellows as well as program delivery
  • Working with partners and alumni on themes such as gender equality, sustainability and disability rights to cultivate champions and support outreach among citizens
  • Exploring avenues to expand our footprint to other cities, including tier II and III, by redesigning existing initiatives to set them up for scale

Requirements

An ideal candidate is someone who is excited to work at the intersection of education and citizen engagement and is passionate about interacting with young people. While we are open to receiving applications from anyone passionate about the role, we would prefer that a candidate have:

  • A background in education/ experiential learning/ civic engagement or other related areas
  • 1-2 years of work experience (Associate), 2-4 years of work experience (Officer). Responsibilities within the team will vary based on designation
  • Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail
  • Ability to present information in a structured and insightful manner
  • Equal parts comfort with spreadsheets and people
  • Ability to work in a dynamic working environment with a strong desire to learn new skills
